Yes, Janet, I know I haven't posted in more than a month. XD
Anyway, I've already ordered the costume I'm wearing for cosfest--I can't go for streetfest, unfortunately. Because I apparently have choir camp. D:
AND I'M GONNA DRAG YOU TO COSPLAY EVENTS WITH ME, JANET. 8D
Cosplay is really fun, and you get to meet a lot of new people through it, and learn new cultures, and most of all, spend money.
Just kidding.
I'm probably going to start posting on lj more often, because LJ IS SO MUCH COOLER.
...okay, I'm probably biased.
Because every single time I post here, I have to switch my gmail account, then after I finish posting, I have to switch back to the one I'm currently using.
Really, really annoying.
Moving on, I really wish that the Cosplay community would expand.
By a lot.
Cosplay is really cool, because you don't only need to cosplay anime, manga or video game characters. An example is last year's EOY, there were actually some Harry Potter cosplays.
Of course, not forgetting that GIGANTIC COOL SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS AND PATRICK.
XD
I'm getting really enthu about cosplay, I don't understand why people think of it as stupid.
Okay, fine, it wastes money and takes up time, but in the end, it's all worth it, isn't it? Because you gain experience (STOP THINKING PERVERTEDLY, PEOPLE.) and friends, and other stuff.
The biggest forum in Singapore about the cosplay community is Sgcafe--I think. It's awesome, and the admin, Kenshin, is also awesome--I haven't met or talked to him, though.
But Sgcafe really is lax, compared to many other forums, not to mention THERE WAS ONE THREAD WHERE PEOPLE TALKED ABOUT MY LANGUAGE SCHOOL.
*ahem* But yes, I do agree that Cosplay takes up time, money and effort. Because we have to go and buy the cloth, then if you don't know how to make your costume and/or props, you're going to have to tailor and/or buy them. Tailoring is usually over $100, sometimes a few hundreds. Props--well, it depends. If you're getting those Naruto shuriken and kunai, they cost around less than $20 for each. The katana usually costs more than $100.
Not to mention, the wig. And possibly wig styling.
Also, if you're crossdressing--like I am, during Cosfest, you'll have to bind your chest.
Now, I don't know how binding chests feel, but I can say that I really don't think I'm going to enjoy it.
I haven't updated my Cosplay list for a while--I've been too lazy. Just like I've been to lazy to post.
Not to mention, mid-years are really around the corner. Aka, the week after next week.
Oh, the horror.
And after that, during the June holidays, I'm going to have to spend quite a lot of time dedicated to my school's upcoming event, NOMAD. Which is extremely big, and I'm quite sure that the whole school participates in it.
In other words, I didn't volunteer to do NOMAD. I was forced to.
=.=
Janet would have been forced to as well, if she hadn't switched schools.
Damn.
Back to cosplaying--cosplaying actually builds up your self-esteem. And you can imagine how wonderful it feels, pretending to be your favourite character, and walking in your character's clothes?
Yup, to me, it's heaven.
I'm going to do other stuff already, and I don't want to make this any longer because I'm a lazy asshole. Sue me.
